Dear AFBC Members:
Over the past several months, the Pastor Search Committee—a group of twelve members elected by the congregation—has worked to determine the most appropriate candidate for your consideration as the next pastor of Auburn First Baptist Church. We consider the task an honor, and we have worked without pause to narrow a strong field of candidates down to one single person for your consideration, in accordance with the church by-laws.
We look forward to introducing you to the candidate and the candidate’s family on Saturday, August 17, in Coleman Fellowship Hall from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Childcare will be provided. An additional opportunity to meet the candidate is available to Senior Adults on Sunday, August 18, from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. in Coleman Fellowship Hall.
In accordance with church by-laws, on August 18, during the morning worship service, our candidate will preach in view of a call to become pastor. After the service, the chair of deacons will call the church into conference for a ballot vote.
Thank you for allowing us to serve on your Pastor Search Committee. We look forward to this next chapter of the life and ministry of Auburn First Baptist Church.
Sincerely,
Pooie Cantrell, co-chair
Mark Wilson, co-chair
Please note that a more detailed letter with biographical information will be emailed (or mailed) to all church members by Tuesday, August 13.
