You may have already read “Reflections” by our new pastor, Dr. Tripp Martin. His arrival surely fulfills much of my “Looking Ahead.” Tripp and I have had the opportunity to spend several hours together both before and since he was called as our next pastor, and I must tell you I am so excited! One of the Deans from Mercer University called to tell me “how fortunate” we were to have Tripp Martin coming as our pastor! He also had just called Tripp to share with him “how fortunate” Tripp was to be coming to our church! This is the feeling of many who know our church and Tripp… It is a great match! (Thank you, Pastor Search Committee!)
I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of our membership for the extraordinary way you have supported your staff and your church during this transitional time. It was encouraging and so very helpful that you accepted positions of responsibility and accepted and responded to the various challenges which faced us… including some financial challenges. It was Auburn First Baptist “being and doing church” in the very best sense. I know our pastor will have all of our support as we begin this new chapter in our church’s life.
