Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us with Your Love

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with Your love,
Show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from You.

Kneels at the feet of His friends,
Silently washes their feet,
Master who acts as a slave to them.

Jesus knew that he was about to die; yet he still focused on serving others. During Holy Week, we remembered Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. Jesus should never have washed the disciples feet. It was not his job. It was the responsibility of a slave, but Jesus didn’t care that this was against social structure. In John 13: 14-16, Jesus told the disciples “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than the one who sent him.” Jesus set an example for us; we must now work to serve as He did. I challenge you to not be afraid to go against social structures. Simply serve others.
