Auburn First Baptist Church is delighted to announce Roy “Morris” Driggers, Jr. has been called as Associate Pastor for Music.

Originally from Dothan, Alabama, Morris began his studies at Auburn University — where he participated in the Marching Band and Concert Choirs — before moving on to earn a Bachelor of Church Music from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and a Master of Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Morris has served congregations in Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, and most recently Morris has served faithfully for the last 15 years as the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church Clinton, South Carolina.

Morris is married to Dawn Sellers Driggers who has a Bachelor of Music Education (Voice) from Samford University and serves as an Adjunct Voice Instructor and Staff Accompanist at Newberry College in Newberry SC. She also teaches private piano and voice lessons as well as accompanies for local chorales. Morris and Dawn have two grown sons, Taylor and Benjamin, who are in college in Scotland and Pennsylvania.

Morris is a pastoral musician who is committed to following Christ and sees music as a means of expressing our worship to God, teaching the truths of God, and celebrating God’s love, mercy and grace.

Morris will lead the music in Morning Worship beginning Sunday, February 21, at 11:00 am. You may listen live on WAUD AM 1230 in Auburn.
