Dear AFBC Family,
Thank you for all the cards, letters, texts, and emails celebrating our five year anniversary together. What a gift it has been to read so many kind words and feel your thoughts and prayers! Thank you for these five years. You have welcomed Seth and me into your lives with love and grace.
I like to think of life and faith as a journey, and I love the words of the hymn “We Are Travelers on a Journey.” You model those words so well. Auburn First Baptist is committed to seeing and welcoming everyone as fellow pilgrims on the road, helping each other along the way, and bearing our loads together. I’ve seen you do this in countless ways, from preparing meals for college students to supporting our youth, from reaching out to people in jail to serving with Loaves and Fishes, from missions projects near and far to serving on all the committees that help our church do all that we do. We have laughed together over shared joys and funny moments. We have wept together over shared sorrows and the injustices around us. Through your kind and profound acts of service, you have held the Christ-light for each other, our community, and the world.
I am grateful to be part of this loving, thoughtful, gracious congregation. Thank you for these first five years of ministry together.
Thank you for being Christ to me.
Grace and peace,
Laura Edgar
