On Sunday, February 11, we will gather to celebrate our Global Ministries Offering for 2024-2025. Each year, we celebrate and make a commitment to the GMO. It is our annual, special offering over-and-above our general fund, which supports ministries globally, regionally, and locally.
If you would like to give to the current GMO for 2023-2024, you can submit gifts until February 9. On February 11, we will begin the next GMO year! A copy of the GMO Budget for 2024-2025 can be found around the church. The total goal for 2024-2025 is $25,000.
The budget includes support for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, both globally and nationally. The CBF is a network of Baptist churches coming together to support field personnel, or missionaries, caring for people in need. They provide spiritual and material support, building communities of grace and hope. We also support the efforts of the Baptist World Alliance, Rise Against Hunger, and the Brazil Mission Team.
The ministries of the GMO Budget are diverse and significant! We support disaster relief, seminary students, first generation college students, religious liberty, and Together for Hope, which cultivates rural development for those living in persistent poverty. We also provide for Sowing Seeds of Hope in Perry County as well as the Community Market. We support the Christian Women’s Job Corp, Esperanza House, and Alabama Rural Ministry.
Through the GMO, we provide resources for Auburn FBC’s Brotherhood projects, Jail Ministry, and Conversational English Ministry. The GMO allows us to participate with others, reaching widely and caring deeply. Each and every gift is important to this effort! Whether it is a monthly gift, or a one-time gift, we give thanks for the opportunity to serve others together.
As we begin another year, we are grateful for our life together and the lay leadership of the congregation!
