A Concert of Sacred Music

In May, as school is winding down and the summer is beginning, we look forward to gathering on Sunday, May 19 at 4:00 p.m. for a concert of sacred music with Khari Allen Lee. This event is sponsored by Auburn First Baptist Church and True Deliverance Holiness Church.  It will be free to the public.

This concert is planned by the Life is Calling Committee, as part of our initiative, entitled, A Place at the Table: Building and Serving Community. Part of this initiative are bridge events, forming partnerships with others, while serving our surrounding community. We are thankful to partner with True Deliverance Holiness Church, which has a rich history and serves the community of Auburn is meaningful ways.

Khari Allen Lee is the Walt & Ginger Wolotsz Endowed Professor of Practice and Director of Commercial Music. He is a talented and gifted musician and saxophonist. He will be playing with Scarlett Sheils, organist, as well as a soloist and accompanist from True Deliverance, Precious Hill and David Foley.

An invitation will be extended to the public as we join with True Deliverance for this event! We will invite our surrounding community to gather around the table with us for this evening. After the concert, we will enjoy a time of gathering in the Fellowship Hall, spending time with our friends at True Deliverance and with others, which will be hosted by the Social Committee.

On the Church’s Calendar, May 19 is Pentecost. It is the birthday of the Church, where so many different people gathered together as the Spirit of God moved and created the body of Christ. We will celebrate this day by gathering with others, giving thanks for the beauty of music as well as the sacred gift of friendship and fellowship!

If you would like a flyer about this concert in order to share it with others, who might be interested in it, they are available in the church office.
