As we are approaching the end of Holy Week, we also anticipate the joy of Easter morning! We take these final steps through this Great Week, full of the Passion of Christ. It leads us through the darkness to see again the strength of the Light of the World!
We also anticipate the end of the academic year. It is quickly approaching, which means our weekly rhythm will change, but not before we celebrate the year at hand. It is fitting to celebrate particular milestones in the journey of our children and youth for we remember the impact of those milestones on our lives and the joy we experienced through them. We want them to experience this joy as well!
On Sunday, April 27, we will welcome the youth to lead us in worship. We are grateful for Youth Sunday, and what is means to our youth and to the congregation. We gain so much from hearing the voices of the youth lead us in prayer and song. We are thankful for their perspective and point of view. We will also celebrate the college students graduating among us. We will recognize what they have meant to the congregation as well.
On the evening of April 27, we will also gather to hear our preschool, children, and youth choirs sing. They will share the music they have been preparing. Through choir, we learn far more than how to sing on pitch or blend our voices. We learn valuable lessons about faith and God. We are thankful for the benefit of these choirs for our preschool, children, and youth. We look forward to celebrating them, while gathering afterwards for our Dessert Fellowship in the Coleman Fellowship Hall.
We will also celebrate with our high school graduates, recognizing them in worship on Sunday, May 4. We will give them the Youth Bible they have been using during their time in the youth group and offer a blessing on their lives. In the evening at 6:00 p.m., we will recognize them in the Fellowship Hall by gathering for dessert and a slideshow.
