With the completion of final exams, students putting away their books, and graduates throwing their hats in the air, we step into the warm days of summer. Time moves differently in the summer! It does not always move slower, but it does feel different.
We will celebrate Vacation Bible School this upcoming week, so the hallways will be full with laughter and joy. Children will be learning, growing, and experiencing the love of the church! But following VBS, the church will be coming and going to several destinations during the weeks of the summer.
On Sunday, June 15, the mission team going to work with Touching Miami with Love will depart. They will spend a week in Miami, teaching children, playing games, singing songs, and talking about God’s love. We have thirteen in our group, and they have been preparing in the recent weeks for their work.
On Sunday, June 29, our youth will depart for Passport Choices. They are going to Converse University, and it is a week they look forward to every year! They will meet youth from other churches like ours. They will read and talk about scripture. They will enjoy building community with one another as well as serving others.
On Monday, June 30, our children will leave for Passport Kids. They are traveling to Montreat Conference Center in North Carolina, where they will join other churches like ours. They will play games and study scripture. They will contribute to a mission offering and learn about missions around the world. They will make memories they can hold onto for years to come!
We are thankful for the comings and goings of the church this summer! We will pray for the children, youth, and chaperones going to camp or participating in the mission trip. We look forward to hearing their stories when they return!
