We enter the hot days of July, where we are avoiding the harsh temperatures and extreme humidity around us. We water our plants more often. We avoid working in the yard in the afternoon. We pay attention to the temperature on our weather app. The schedule of each day is different!
Many of us will also be traveling this month as we are in and out of town. We will visit family. We will travel to the beach. We will take our children to camp. We will be out of town for a conference. The days remain busy, but our rhythm and routine are different.
As our weeks begin to feel and look different, we can mark one event on our calendar, as our youth are hosting a Rise Against Hunger event. On Sunday, July 27, we will gather at 3:00 p.m. in the Coleman Fellowship Hall. Our youth are using their mission fund from parking cars during the football season to make this event possible. We will pack over 10,000 meals, which will then be distributed to places around the world in need.
Our first Rise Against Hunger event was about ten years ago! It is a wonderful opportunity for all ages in the church to serve together. Children seal and deliver bags to various stations. Youth offer leadership and sort the food. All of us find a station, where we can contribute by packing meals, which will meet the needs of others.
If you are interested in attending and helping, please use this link to register: http://events.riseagainsthunger.org/AurburnFirstBap2025. We look forward to working together and serving the needs of others!
