On Thursday, September 4 at 5:30 p.m., we will gather for a Special-Called Business Meeting to vote on the recommendation from the Church Council, forming a Search Committee for an Associate Pastor for Youth & Children.
At its Quarterly Business Meeting in August, the congregation approved the job description for an Associate Pastor for Youth & Children. The minister in this role will build relationships and plan activities for the youth and provide resources and lead the children’s ministry, while also serving the congregation. The job description is weighted sixty percent for the youth ministry and forty percent for the children’s ministry. The minister will cultivate an arc of faith formation from preschool to graduation from high school.
Since the meeting in August, the Church Council has gathered to recommend church members to serve on a Search Committee for this position:

The Deacons have approved this leadership, and the congregation will vote on this Search Committee on September 4. The Search Committee will then begin its important work!
The congregation also approved a job description for a Director of College Ministry. This will be a part-time position, serving the needs of our college ministry. The Director will plan activities for our college students and foster relationships between church members and college students. It is not a ministerial position, so the Personnel Committee will begin the search for candidates.
At the Special-Called Business Meeting on September 4, the congregation will also hear the Trust Fund Report as well as recommendations from the Trustees and the Mission Committee on spendable earnings for this year. We continue to plan for needs for our facilities and to fund future missions and ministries!
