Originally from Dothan, Morris began his studies at Auburn University where he participated in the Marching Band and Concert Choirs before earning a Bachelor of Church Music from Samford University and a Master of Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Morris has served congregations in Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, and most recently as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church Clinton, South Carolina. Morris is a pastoral musician who is committed to following Christ and sees music as a means of expressing our worship to God, teaching the truths of God, and celebrating God’s Love, Mercy and Grace.
His wife Dawn is also a Samford graduate, with a Bachelor of Music Education degree (with Vocal Performance certificate added). In recent years, Dawn has found much joy in accompanying community choral groups and working as a collaborative pianist for several college music departments.
Morris and Dawn have two grown sons, Taylor and Benjamin.
