The Gift of Belonging

We are delighted to welcome Mia Cellino Hong to AFBC this morning. Mia serves as a teacher and worship leader, blending her love for God with a dedication to fostering growth in both the church and the classroom. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy in 2018 at the University of Georgia. She worked as a music therapist for several years until transitioning to ministry. She is set to graduate with a Master of Divinity in May 2025 from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University. In 2024, she was honored as a recipient of the John R. Claypool Preaching Award.

Currently, Mia serves as the Worship Leader at Edgewood Church in Atlanta. Alongside her ministry, she works as a substitute teacher and looks forward to teaching Special Education at McClure Health Sciences High School starting next school year. She feels particularly called to combine her love for both music and education in her vocational endeavors. Outside of work and ministry, Mia takes great pleasure in reading thriller novels and grabbing dinner at her favorite local Mexican restaurant whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Mia resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, Will, and her dog, Millie. She is immensely grateful for the opportunity to preach at Auburn First Baptist Church today.
